Lucky Me and Battle Cry are both 5.1 on DVD. I know the WB website says Lucky Me is mono, but I would assume the "Archive edition" is identical to the earlier release and that is a misprint. Also there is no Blu-ray of The Spirit of St Louis.

I've never heard that. What I have heard is that MGM didn't want to store their multi-angle original music recording sessions anymore so they had them all transferred to tape and then dumped the optical film recordings.

Normally I'd cry foul, but Warner is very good about using the correct elements in that if they have them they use them. This and Blood Alley have only ever been available in 2 channel on DVD, so no one can claim that the discrete tracks still exist.

Who's Lana? I say bravo for more Tab Hunter on Blu-ray!
