Listen every movie has its detractors, but even those that dislike a particular film should be able to acknowledge a consensus opinion that runs counter to their own opinion.

I don't as an adventure movie is an action movie to me because they didn't really call them the latter until after the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Adventure = Action to me as they didn't call them "Action" movies when "The Adventures of Robin Hood" was made.

"Clarity: yes, the best all around action flick: cinematography, story, action, acting, does it stand the test of time? Iconic?" Under those requirements my first choice would be "The Adventures of Robin Hood". Other choices are "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Aliens". I have several more...

It's not a film that I would call iconic nor does it have good acting and/or story.

Why are you scratching most of your film suggestions under these requirements? "Clarity: yes, the best all around action flick: cinematography, story, action, acting, does it stand the test of time? Iconic?"

Why would 2012 qualify under those requirements?

I think that needs to be clarify before I will post my choices.
