American Express is notorious for fee-based cards. I believe I have their "Blue" card (not sure it exists anymore) that doesn't have an annual fee. However, I don't know if there are rewards attached to it or not. I don't use the card.

From what I am reading, it looks like Goldman Sachs is getting ready to hand over Apple Card to American Express. I don't know if that will be a good thing or not, and, what effect it will have on Apple Savings and the very generous interest rate we are receiving at the moment.

Not true. I just Googled that to make sure. If you apply and are accepted, a hard inquiry is made which will affect your credit score. However, this is only a temporary hit. It will eventually bounce back.
