Nothing to do with the transfer
Everything has to do with the cover and the fact it's a bare-boned release compared to the Import. The entire concept of the U.S. release was "Shitty."
In the end, since I already have the THEATRICAL on digital, I'll probably just buy the EXTENDED when it drops...
Thanks, Neil. I was made aware that horrible cover art is on the menu. No issue with that.
Without digital codes, I am thinking of foregoing the UK release and just buying the digital code for the extended version once it drops to $5, which it previously has.
I have been very happy with...
Perhaps this has always been available on U.S. Amazon, but I am noticing for the first time that the import version of THE EXORCIST 4k can be had for $30 with free shipping.
Not noted on the packaging, but does this come with digital codes? I have the THEATRICAL on digital but not the...
I vowed not to buy this shitty release
However, I will give in if the price drops to $9.99, which is highly plausible considering the other WB 4k price drops.
The situation is, that I only have the theatrical cut on digital. I want the extended Director cut. First, it's impossible to find on...
Accept it. It happens. A little respect, please for those of us that feel that way.
And for the record, as one of the persons making a huge stink about the artwork, I am not normally a stickler like this when it comes to packaging. But let's face it -- this is bad artwork. But we have...
Not the worst I have seen.
You should have witnessed the cover art for the DVD release of the original PLANET OF THE APES which gave away the film's ending in a single picture. I was really angered about that one. Anyone who never saw the film had it ruined for them before they even inserted...
It's odd. Unless I missed something on the press release (post #1) it doesn't go into the specific sound formats.
However, if you look at the back of the cover, it does mention Dolby Atmos.

I understand your concerns. I only have a minimal idea of what they are going to do with this film.
To begin with, there's the trailer made specifically for this 4k release. I think it's in the top post (if not second or third). Just by looking at that footage, the film looks spectacular...
Speaking of William Friedkin saying everything that needed to be said about THE EXORCIST prior to his death...
This is certainly the case with LEAP OF FAITH, a 90+ minute documentary on the making of the film which I had the pleasure of recently watching.
Rather than being a behind-the-scenes...
This edition showing up on Rough Cut. Not certain if it will be available through Amazon

I had talked about this previously in other similar conversations.
I talked with someone at the studio about this years ago as I was wondering why those original Warner logos were repeatedly being replaced with new ones. That referenced Saul Bass logo was used as an example.
The answer I was...
That's a good idea. I'm still apprehensive about losing the ability to walk into a room and look over my shelves. I may get there someday, though.
I'm down to buying only 6 titles a year on Disc. So, this one I am going to splurge on.
A press release has not been issued yet. I would expect one before the end of this week and I'll include it in the top post.
There has been back cover artwork that has been circulated around. I can't verify it's authentic but it seems to be.
I also don't have the Blu-ray release in hand to...
I rarely do this but I am going for the BestBuy Steelbook release simply to avoid that god-awful artwork (U.S. release).
I don't know what the WB art department was thinking. I understand that the original poster art has been used in just about every prior release dating back to VHS but they...
