Of course they care. The release of a movie, even on a streaming service, puts them in the public eye, not only with their performance but the press they do, the magazine covers, etc. it raises their profile, which usually means more work for them. Another director or producer sees a film like...
That’s fucking outrageous. There’s no justification for this. All because they don’t want to jeopardize their tax write-off status. Wow.
Zaslav is destroying this company. He’s also behind ugly changes at CNN (another Warner company). I’ve never been a fan of CNN, but what he’s doing there is...
That’s definitely true.
If you ask me, Warner is in free fall. Nothing but bad choices for what seems like years. And I don’t know, maybe this movie is abysmal, but they released Haley Berry’s Catwoman, for crying’ out loud.
Sweet merciful crap! The movie has been shelved! It will not be released!
They say it's "irredeemable." How could it be worse than Batman & Robin or Catwoman? Is this yet another huge misstep for Warner Bros. and their DC films...
Is there a release date for this movie? I see the top post says 12/2/22 but that’s the only place I’ve seen that date, and that’s pretty close to Warner’s Aquaman sequel, which is coming to theaters. Seems unlikely to me they’d sandwich this one in between Flash in November and Aquaman in December.
^ I hope that’s a sign this will be somewhat more lighthearted. I like Fraser, and he’s had an easygoing manner in almost everything he’s done. He’s currently doing Doom Patrol for DC, which is a very original show, and he’s killing it there (it’s mostly voice over work). I’ve certainly seen...
IMO, ties to Zack Snyder and Jared Leto are two strikes against this project.
I've really soured on the DC films and TV shows lately. None of them really present a place I'd want to visit. They all exist in a very bleak atmosphere, where even the heroes constantly suffer and sadistic bad guys...
I just hope they avoid the whole Joker-crippled-Batgirl storyline. We need movies that are less grim, and that's one of the turning points for the DC universe (in the wrong direction IMO).
Not sure I would count on it being related to the Reeves Batman. DC and Warner haven't seemed very concerned about creating a cohesive universe. Indeed, their concept of a shared universe seems to be a "multiverse" in which all iterations of the same characters co-exist somehow.
Already we...
That's very true. Look how it turned out for Wonder Woman. Whedon was attached to that way back when. It took 10 years or so, but it got made, and the vast majority of viewers were happy with it (including me!).
