After a month, I figured it would never happen and I can't believe anyone still expected it to happen. I was talking to a buddy today who is a huge Marvel fan about Gunn getting rehired and I was laughing that if he had still be saying he hoped that Gunn would be back that I would have just had...
Yeah, his physicality makes expanding to dramatic or leading man roles next to impossible but no matter what, he'll continue to be able to land roles in smaller pictures. Plus, it's not like he's taking up the cause of a controversial person like Woody Allen or Bill Cosby- he's defending a guy...
Yeah, it was a fairly big news story (in terms of entertainment news anyway) nearly a year before the movie came out but by the time the movie came out, I doubt the general public remembered it at all.
I agree but I would have thought a similar situation would have occurred on Solo and it was largely ignored so maybe Guardians 3 will have the same thing. Granted, I think the fanbase and entertainment press will be talking about it MUCH more than anyone did about Solo/Miller & Lord but it's not...
I love that Disney doesn't even bother to follow their own moronic logic and not use his script too. If old sick jokes make you ineligible to direct a movie then those old tweets sure as hell should also make you ineligible to write a movie. C'mon, Disney, stick to your high moral standing and...
I'm certainly not taking Disney's side in this situation but if they feel that his old tweets are too bad for him to allow him to direct the movie for them then, using their flawed logic, it does make sense that he would also be too objectionable to write the movie for them too. However, if they...
Everybody has got a boss.
Once they fired him as director, I kinda assumed that they'd toss his script since, if by Disney's twisted logic, Gunn is too terrible to direct for them, he must also be too terrible to write for them too.
In fairness, Johnson said he didn't think that he had tweeted anything that bad but was just trying to not give ammo to someone looking to screw him over and you know that as soon as he deleted them, rabid TLJ haters started reading every tweet he ever made in an effort to get revenge against...
Yeah, he even tweeted afterwards

The unfortunate part of people deleting their tweets is that tweets that they made about their work that were informative or a look behind the scenes are now 'lost'. Rian Johnson isn't Hitchcock or...
I'm nitpicking but Disney and Marvel never really get what I consider to be A-list directors for the Marvel movies anyway. Not that their directors aren't talented & they've all got big careers ahead of them but it's not like Steven Spielberg or Quentin Tarantino or Christopher Nolan or James...
If James Woods gets in the same or similar situation (and the situation is what is important and not just simply being fired for getting caught saying something moronic on Twitter), I will say that it's messed up.
Maybe it's going to be like Rogue One and the 3-D version will be a store exclusive?
Also, "[n]onstop fun and games" sounds like a quote from someone who isn't quite fluent in English.
Outside of Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, this is Michael Rooker's best performance. It's great to see a talented character actor like that get some screen time in a big movie.
I had a good time with it. Not all the jokes work in the first half but once the movie gets to its villain, it's a ton of fun and surprisingly heartfelt. It's great to see Michael Rooker and Kurt Russell getting more recognition and big roles in their 60's.
Kids love the Cars movies so while there's no danger of it reaching Finding Dory level of success, it'll still make money. The real money for Cars is in the merchandise. Cars toys are so gigantically profitable that, at a corporate level, the movie is probably an afterthought and more an excuse...
I took a look next year's release schedule and Guardians comes out on May 5 and the next 'blockbuster' is Pirates Of The Caribbean three weeks later on Memorial Day so it's got most of the month to itself. (Pirates isn't what it was in the U.S. but it'll still be a massive hit internationally.)...
