I don't have the investment in this show that others have but I thought the finale was good. It worked on an emotional level and the actors gave very good performances too.
No, fans wouldn't be happy because it wouldn't make sense with what came before as Rey hasn't done anything even remotely on par with the worst things that Dany has done.
Didn't she kill an army (or a bunch of soldiers at least) that had surrendered? If someone will do that, it's not hard for me to imagine that persons killing anyone they felt like killing.
I'm far from an authority on this show but my memory is that she did all kinds of ruthlessly fucked up shit throughout the years. To me, this was just one more horrible thing she did.
I said it earlier but I think people saw it and they left it assuming no one beyond sharp eyed fans would notice or care. I guess they didn't realize that the world is such a Shangri-La that people have nothing more to worry about than a cup seen for a few seconds on a TV show. :)
They probably figured only a handful of sharp eyed fans would notice and left the cup. Now that it's gotten some attention, I get the feeling that the cup will be gone on the home video release.
That's a fair critique (and if they had had to edit the episode to an hour, that's what would have gotten the boot) but I liked that they spent that much time with the characters since I assume it's the last time we'll see many or any of them happy.
I know they've been around since basically the beginning and I know everyone has been saying "Winter is coming" forever but when did they start getting real screen time and become the focus of the story? Admittedly, I forget a ton about this show but I thought it was last season.
Personally, I'd be surprised if 1% of the audience has done any kind of calibration to their TV. I applaud them for not dumbing down their work but when the overwhelming majority of the audience won't see it, they might have wanted to consider a slightly different approach.
Yeah, I'm way more interested in the interactions and confrontations between the human characters that I've "known" for seven seasons rather than people fighting some snow zombies that really only started to be featured last season.
My TV isn't professionally calibrated but I've used a setup disc and prior to last night, I've never had a problem. Like I've said, I've seen similar complaints about other shows being too dark (The Walking Dead gets the complaint frequently) but this is the first time that I have found an...
It certainly looked like crap to me but based on the different reports I've seen on this and other "dark" episodes of various series, I think the biggest variable is the provider that a viewer is using. It was an intentionally dark and rapidly cut episode but if I had watched it on Blu-ray, I...
If you thought last week's episode was bad, you're going to lose your mind with this week's. I'm just assuming something cool is happening because I sure as hell can't see shit that's happening onscreen.
Is there a reason that they changed the opening credits? I'm assuming they've been the same for 70 episodes so, unless events in the show demand a change to the 'map', it seems weird to change them for the last 8 episodes.
