Yeah, I felt NYC was pretty good when it was dealing with the real world history like the mob-owned gay clubs or the beginnings of AIDS but the fictional horror was much less interesting to me.

My guess is that they're trying to find a happy medium where they feed Hulu new episodes and keep up with modern audience demand for multiple episodes while still being on a kinda weekly schedule.
