The series was pretty consistent across its six episode run. The pros and cons (as I perceived them) were present throughout the series. I generally liked most of the performances and thought that some of the character interactions, with their associated dialog, were strong. As noted...
In terms of furthering the plot and showing Gravik's loss of support with some of the Skrull, true. From the standpoint of the dissenting Skrull it would have made more sense to either acquire capabilities before taking on Gravik, or simply abandoning him at the earliest opportunity.
Fair...
Watching episode five just continued to drive home the fundamental weakness of the series, in my estimation...
The show just feels very inconsistent and illogical in terms of the conditions it establishes and the characters' actions within that framework.
Otherwise I tend to like most other...
One other thought about episode four (maybe more later)...
While I thought the action set piece that concluded the episode was well mounted, I would assume that in normal circumstances a presidential motorcade in open territory would have some type of air escort. Yeah, I know - Alien shape...
I lost track, or more specifically the episode did not explicitly show Rhodey following his scene in the motorcade identifying the vehicle containing Citadel. I have some ideas about this that I'll post below...
Given Gravik's capabilities and his actions, I believe that he is choosing to...
In a perfect world :) yes, the victims of oppression at the hands of the Kree would not resort to such means as a solution for their problems. I think what motivates Gravik (which may have been discussed in this thread (?)) is that he saw how effective the Kree were at achieving their...
I would agree. While I've watched my share of MCU series on D+ (but not all) they always seem to have this problem. I realize that you can't be 'balls to the wall' all of the time, but I also think that segments designed to decompress tend to rob (some of) the series of their narrative drive...
Episode 3 - Betrayed
The best thing about episode three were the scenes between Fury and Talos. Gravik's scenes were another strong element in episode three.
Mostly enjoyed the episode, particularly the dialog, but the pacing felt kind of uneven.
- Walter.
Episode 2 - Promises
I think I enjoyed the second episode a little bit more than the premiere. Episode two does a pretty good job of establishing both Gravik's motivations and ruthlessness. It also provides more context for the series' overall plot. I'll put the rest in spoilers since it is...
Seems like that would be rather high on the list of government priorities.
I'm trying to keep an open mind on how the show employs the shape shifters, but it does give me some pause about the series.
Despite those reservations, my initial impression is that the series is still worth viewing...
Viewed episode one earlier today and mostly enjoyed it. I am of two minds regarding the reliance upon shape shifting entities in the series. It can be used to foster a sense of paranoia and distrust which clearly the show is striving to establish. On the other hand, if it is used as a "trick"...
