Marvel's GUARDIANS of the GALAXY Vol. 2: May 5th, 2017

Well, I'm really kind of indifferent on whether or not they bring Gunn back or not (I will admit I don't really feel all that sorry for Gunn, he did kind of kick a hornets nest via politically divisive tweets). But if they do bring him back then I want to see equal standards applied to others...

True, but it often is. Serious question, does an inappropriate sense of humor protect stereotypical racial humor? I mean, I read my fair share of the "Truly Tasteless" books back in the day. Who gets to decide what is "Ok inappropriate" and what is "Not okay inappropriate"

I accept your points, but I think you get what I mean when I suggest that a change in the creative reins does not necessarily mean doom on a project.

I can’t say I know much about The Tick, but I think it’s a bit of a defeatist attitude to think that whoever replaces Gunn is doomed from start. Gunn certainly has a lot to do with GotG, but surely he’s not all of it. Let’s go back to some prior examples (and in full disclosure, I know that...

Is Gunn the only person on Earth that could make a good GotG movie?

Well all the cast are certainly going to have non-disparity clauses in their contracts so they're not going to vocally complain about what went on during the promotional period (though it's certainly possible they won't promote with the same level of enthusiasm). And as I said before, despite...

I don’t know, I can’t help but think this is getting ridiculous. The cast has had their chance to opine on how they feel about all this. I don’t think Disney had no choice but to fire Gunn, but be a professional and do the job you agreed to do and the job you’re getting paid a lot of money to...

Yeah, I was half joking about but was also half serious. He seems like a not half bad choice. Now maybe the relative BO failure of Solo could affect his odds (as well as the optics of Howard being called in to “save” another Disney franchise entry) but I don’t think Howard had much to do with...

Why don’t they just get Ron Howard? He’s been known to play clean up for Disney.

Well, Woods does claim that he's been blacklisted for his right leaning views. Of course that's just what he says and I don't think he was doing much anyway at the time he became active on Twitter. And yes his arguement is weakened by the fact that there are some pretty successful Hollywood...

I just hope all the people who defended Gunn in this situation attitudes remain consistent when something like this happens to someone they don't respect as much.

Probably a pretty safe bet at this point that he'll be brought back. Maybe that was the plan all along, Disney looks like they're enforcing zero tolearance and then they work him back in once the publicity died down.
