My setup is comprised of:
2x Definitive Technology BP7006 Bi-polar SuperTower
2x Definitive Technology 800 ProMonitor
2x Definitive Technology 1000 ProMonitor
1x Definitive Technology 1000 ProCenter
1x Denon with AUDYSSEY support
Original cabling was 2x2.5mm (which is equivalent to 2x14AWG).
My dilemma is this: the new house we recently moved to has cables already installed in the walls for the surround system (see pictures), which is great because exposed cables were always an eyesore. However, for some odd reason the builder, after going through all this trouble running cables through the walls and making everything look great, selected 22AWG cables. That is, only a SINGLE 22AWG cable per speaker! The max distance of the cable is approx. around 30ft I think.
My questions:
1- Is it worth using the existing cabling 100% or would I notice a great degradation in quality?
2- Can I use the existing cabling only for the two speaks in the back and sides (i.e. ProMonitor 800/1000) and use my cabling for the Towers and Centre?
3- Would AUDYSSEY help in either scenarios 1 or 2 above?
Thanks in advance!
