SUWANEE, Ga., May 24, 2017 -- Hisense, the multinational consumer technology manufacturer and one of the largest television brands in the world, today announces the availability of its H9D and H9D Plus 4K ULED™ as well as H7D, and H6D 4K Smart TV Series in the United States. Select models in the 2017 line-up, first unveiled at January's International CES, are Ultra LED models with our proprietary ULED™ technology, and includes models with premium features like HDR*, Wide Color Gamut, Motion Rate technology, Local Dimming, dbx-tv® Award-Winning Audio Technology, built-in apps like Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube, FandangoNow, VUDU, Pandora and hundreds of other apps available for download from the Opera App store – part of a redesigned Smart TV platform with access to all the best content.

"At Hisense, our mission is to make premium picture quality, like our proprietary ULED™ technology, accessible to everyone." says Mark Viken, Hisense USA Vice President of Marketing. "Amazing content is bringing consumers back to the living room and we believe that our Hisense 4K television line-up offers an amazing, large screen viewing experience for everyone."

The first of Hisense's ULED™ TVs to arrive in stores this year are the H9D and H9D Plus, available at select retailers nationwide.

Featuring HDR*, Wide Color Gamut, Motion Rate and Local Dimming, the H9D Series produces the most colorful, crisp, and smooth images available today. Hisense's ULED™ technology features better dynamic range and perception of black and white. The technology enhances color, contrast, black level, brightness and smooth motion with a combination of advanced hardware and software – crucial for sports fanatics and action film fans looking for optimum viewing from day to night. The H9D Plus Series offers all of the excellent qualities of the H9D Series with faster Motion Rate for those who love to watch fast action on their televisions.

A 4K TV for Everyone
Hisense continues to offer premium 4K UHD televisions at a variety of price points, delivering 8.3 million pixels (four times more pixels than standard high-definition TV) and providing everyone the opportunity to have a premium viewing experience. In fact, all of Hisense's 2017 4K UHD televisions feature HDR* processing.

The H7D and H6D Series range from 43" to 65" of affordable 4K UHD TV with HDR* technology.

The H7D 4K UHD Smart TV Series, available in 43", 50" and 55", elevates brightness and color. The Hisense remote control offers one-touch hot keys for quick access to apps like Netflix, YouTube, Vudu and Amazon Video.

The H6D 4K UHD Smart TV Series, available in 43", 50", 55" and 65" has incredibly bright colors, clean lines and rich contrast. The HDR* technology maximizes brightness, while the built-in UHD Upscaler converts lower resolution content as close to 4K as possible.

Quick and Simple Access to the Best Content
Hisense recognizes that without easy access to content, picture quality is irrelevant. The newly redesigned Hisense Smart TV platform offers quick and easy one-touch access to the content consumers want, including a web browser for Hisense brand 4K televisions. In North America, this platform pre-installs the most popular leading apps – including Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube and VUDU – which can be accessed with the touch of a button on the newly designed remote control. In addition, Hisense Smart TV users can experience content from hundreds of apps through the Opera TV Store that encompass movies and TV shows, music, gaming, lifestyle, fashion, news and more.

For seamless access to 4K content, Hisense has developed 4K Now, a content gallery for 4K movies, trending videos and streaming providers, offering viewers the opportunity to experience the most beautiful content.

My first question about these sets, how is the scaling? If going from 1080 to 4K scaling sucks, right now there is no reason to upgrade

My question -- are these going to be any higher quality than the lowest common denominator, generic low price/low performance sets, so cheap they;re disposable razors they've been releasing for the last decade (along with the rest of their appliances). Otherwise just file the ad below the kitty litter (figuratively since I have no cat).

Every Hisense TV I've looked at pretty much fit with the Westinghouse level HD sets I used to try to make look decent. Light bleed, poor contrast, poor quality/uniformity panels, grey black and grey whites

The obvious bias in the article is one company wants to buy part of another company so they aren't going to heap praises on it and make it's value greater. OTOH, my other post makes my feeling pretty clear of the opinion I have for Hisense quality so the Sharp article is not just financial hijinks
