I am most anxious to own this, but I will await reviews, having heretofore seen only terrible copies and transfers. In fact, so far, the best home theater PQ of this was in the two 9-minute Castle Films excerpts called ONE MILLION B.C. and BATTLE OF THE GIANTS, which could be edited together onto a 400' Super 8mm reel. Apparently Castle had access to better film elements than any of the video companies offering full-length editions, including The Nostalgia Merchant and, I believe (on laser), 3M.
I watched this today and had a good time with it. It looked good though perhaps a little dark and there was some age-related damage but nothing too distracting. The story certainly kept me interested, and the pantomime was engaging. I marvel at how they were able to make much out of little in regard to special effects back in the day.
