In addition to enjoying this film anyway and liking several members of the cast, I have another reason for wanting a pristine presentation of this film. Rhonda Fleming is a favorite of mine and in the mid 1950s was one of the best-looking actresses in Hollywood. It has always seemed to me that in While The City Sleeps, Rhonda Fleming was not photographed flatteringly, in marked contrast to how John Alton - yes, that John Alton - made her look in Tennessee's Partner and Slightly Scarlet. I'm very interested to see if a better presentation of the film will make me revise my opinion of how Rhonda Fleming was photographed.
