The HTR 3 for my NAD 755 A/V reciever is dead. NAD offered a new remote, an HTR 8, for $150. Any ideas on a replacement for the HTR 3, or a less expensive HTR 8?
I think $150 for a replacement OEM remote is ridiculous. I would suggest considering a Harmony 650 universal remote for $38. You can use it to control all your components. I have this same model, and use a single remote to control my Denon AVR, Vizio 4K display, Sony UHD player, Panasonic BD player, Oppo DVD player, Xfinity cable box and Roku Ultra streaming box. All my OEM remotes are packed away with the batteries removed. I hate the "coffee table full of remotes" approach to controlling a home theater.
The Harmony 650, as Scott said above, is a very good and less expensive option. It was also a very popular Christmas gift this last season, as I gave and programmed three of them to friends and family members.
