StudioCanal released MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS in UK recently, which was distributed by Paramount in the U.S. We have seen (and I have bought) European Blu-rays of ROMEO AND JULIET (1968), ATLANTIC CITY, PAPER MOON, THE ELEPHANT MAN, CONQUEST OF SPACE, THE DEAD ZONE and several others because (I assume) Paramount does not retain video rights to these overseas. I am wondering what other titles might fall into this category, and whether or not there is any kind of data base listing them, which might provide some hope of an eventual Blu-ray release somewhere. The list of titles we've been waiting for forever, in addition to the above, include:

BAD NEWS BEARS
BAREFOOT IN THE PARK
BLACK SUNDAY (1976)
BRIDGES AT TOKO-RI
BRINGING OUT THE DEAD
CATCH-22
CIVIL ACTION, A
COURT JESTER, THE
DISORDERLY ORDERLY (and lots of other Jerry Lewis titles)
DESPERATE HOURS, THE (1955)
DRAGONSLAYER
GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH (Oscar-winner)
HUD
LADY SINGS THE BLUES
LAST TRAIN TO GUN HILL
LONGEST YARD, THE (1976)
MOLLY MAGUIRES, THE
NEVADA SMITH
NOBODY'S FOOL
NORTH DALLAS FORTY
NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY
ORDINARY PEOPLE (Oscar-Winner)
PARALLAX VIEW, THE
PLACE IN THE SUN, A
PLAY IT AGAIN SAM
PRESIDENT'S ANALYST, THE
PRETTY BABY
RACING WITH THE MOON
RAGTIME
RED TENT, THE
ROMAN HOLIDAY
SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISHER
SIMPLE PLAN, A
TENANT, THE
TESTAMENT
TIN STAR, THE
TUCKER: A MAN AND HIS DREAM
WAR OF THE WORLDS (1953)
WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE
WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE
WILL PENNY
WONDER BOYS
YOU CAN COUNT ON ME
plus scores of others...

The Nun's Story is a Warner Brothers film. Despite Audrey Hepburn's starring role, I don't think Paramount has any claims to it at all.

Dragonslayer was a co-production with Disney and Tucker was Lucasfilm, so it's conceivable those could have different overseas distributors.

I'd like to add:
COUNTERFEIT TRAITOR
FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL
GHOST AND THE DARKNESS
MIRACLE OF MORGAN'S CREEK
NAKED JUNGLE
POPEYE
THE SHOOTIST
YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES

FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL is already available in the UK and Australia in a very nice special edition, uncut blu ray.

THE NAKED PRAY is available on a Region B Eureka! (Masters Of Cinema) release from UK, and looks awesome. THE NAKED JUNGLE has a good-looking HD master which someone is just sitting on. I think POPEYE is out there somewhere also. MIRACLE OF MORGAN'S CREEK was from 1943 and might belong to Universal now. Either way, it's a terrific film and is just rotting away in somebody's vault.

Is Naked Jungle widescreen? Morgan's Creek was released on DVD by Paramount.

I believe they either retained or reacquired ownership when it was remade (loosely) as Rock-A-Bye Baby

Do you mean The Naked Prey (1965)?

Great list, I'd buy most of 'em. My little most desirable list would be:

The Greatest Show On Earth
Li'l Abner
The Last Train From Gun Hill
In Harm's Way
The President's Analyst
Catch-22
The Longest Yard

I hope Paramount sort out their catalogue titles, I'm sure they've done some good transfers, & it's just a case of releasing them themselves or licensing them out.
