It's probably to try to capitalize on all the new fans they believe they're bringing in. Would be interesting to hear what the number is, if they ever release it.

I believe I read it is only 11 episodes instead of the usual 13.

I think they are cutting it to ten episodes from now on and no more Christmas specials!
