That's a pretty bad Photoshop job on that cover. I understand that that's not that significant a deal--it's all about the film, after all. But that's really bad.

Also nice to see that they're offering Atmos on the Blu and not just the 4k/UHD.

I'll be picking this one up...gladly. I ended up NOT having to take my wife to see it in the theater...so I don't feel nearly so bad about picking up the disc!

This is the final theatrical poster art and was also the cover of the soundtrack album.

It's somewhat misleading because it shows the two casts intermingling, when they don't do that in the film. In the body of the film, the prequel story is its own thing, and the sequel story is another; they cut back and forth between the two, but don't mix them until the credits "curtain call" number. It's like they're two different movies, though thematically linked.

Target.com says they will have 20 minutes of exclusive bonus content, but it's not clear if they mean a disc or a download. I really might take the steelbook from Best Buy instead.

It's interesting that they have a Tanya Meets Tanya and Rosie Meets Rosie featurette, but not Meryl meeting Lily James to discuss Donna, or the three dads meeting their counterparts.

It's funny that this announcement should come today, since I went back to the movie in theaters yesterday. It's the only movie this summer that I've seen theatrically twice. In a happy surprise, the theater was full yesterday, even though the movie has been out for not quite two months, and the audience was really into it. I loved it again and am pleased to say it really holds up to repeat viewing.

As a massive fan of the first movie and the stage show, I didn't like the sequel as much...but I still enjoyed the heck out of it and the soundtrack has become one of the most played things on my phone.

Movies like this (aka mid-budget fare) are "easy" to make a profit on for the studios, I'm usually shocked there aren't more of them. Not everything needs to be $200 million + or bargain basement art house flicks. Mammia Mia 2 had a respectable budget and has earned that back with a slight profit domestically. That's assuming you use half the production budget for P/A. When you factor in worldwide, that profit becomes much bigger.

I've had the 4k on preorder for a while. Can't wait to have it in my hand.

I watched this on UHD tonight. Dolby Vision really made the visuals pop, and with the movie almost wall-to-wall music that reverberated throughout my entire home theater room, what's there not to like?

Well, a couple of things. I didn't like how every character got paired with someone except the gay character played by Colin Firth (surely that passport official who was flirting with him might have been a fun partner). I was shocked by the amount of singing required of Lily James. Not that her voice wasn't up to it; she sang very well, but a more balanced program of numbers might have suited me a little better. Loved Cher's vocals (she sounded far more vocally trained than I ever remember her being in her pop singing prime), and Meryl's climactic number was very moving and beautifully sung. And I was most impressed by Jessica Keenan Wynn's spot-on resemblance and mannerisms duplication of Christine Baranski. Great bit of casting there.
