For internet streaming of movies and shows, would an Ethernet direct wire to an Onkyo TX-NR696 be worth the additional cost vs. using Wifi to an Onkyo TX-SR393? Right now, using Spectrum, I tend to drop streaming despite having full “bars” on my Wifi. The reason I ask is I’m considering upgrading to a 4

This isn’t really my field of expertise, but from what I’ve picked on from other threads regarding streaming drop-outs is that it requires a robust wireless router. On other words, a $200 unit is going to work better than a $50 one.

If you have a budget router, it might be well worth the price of an Ethernet cable to get reliable service.

Maybe I'm out of touch, but are receivers able to stream video? Is that a capability I have and don't even realize it? I have a Marantz SR7012 in the living room, and I'm not aware of it being able to do that.

The OP's Onkyo has built-in Chromecast. Not sure if that includes video, though.

That's why I mentioned it, because my Marantz SR7012 (as well as the AV7703) have AirPlay2, but they only stream audio.
