Hey RoundUppers!

Yet another big week! Lots of releases. Lots of variety. Hope there's something for you.

For me, this week, I've pre-ordered two blind buys: Yesterday and Anna. I will likely find myself picking up The Letter and The Circus sometime down the road. Maybe The Major and the Minor, too.

Thanks for the support each week...and the "likes."

Safe shopping!

Thank you, Mike!

But nothing for me this week (which is perfectly fine with me, because October is quite loaded with important new titles, so I'll take a breather week where I can get one.)

I'm perfectly happy with the earlier Platinum Edition of Sleeping Beauty and the Diamond Edition of 101 Dalmatians and feel no need to "upgrade" those.

I wish I liked Yesterday more, but I wasn't a fan of it in theaters, so I don't need that either. Hopefully you enjoy it more than I did.

I like Lily James a lot...

So do I, but if she is the main reason you want to see it, you'll be disappointed. She is as good as the script lets her be, but her role is exclusively to be "the girl," which wastes her talent. And it doesn't even let her sing any Beatles songs either, even though Mamma Mia! proved she's got the vocal chops.

It's not a bad movie, but I think it's a missed opportunity to do something richer and more unique with a cool premise than the sort of generic romantic comedy they ended up with.

Yesterday on UHD and "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 4 on Blu-Ray, but both down the road when the price comes down.

Thanks as always for your hard work, Mike!

Yeah. I've got some trepidation about that one. I like Lily James a lot...
For what it's worth, I liked it a lot, probably as much as Jake disliked it. It seems to be a very divisive movie; it either works for you or it doesn't. It worked for me.

I agree with this. For this reason, I would personally suggest a rental rather than a blind purchase for anyone who missed it in theaters, because that's a less costly way to determine which side of the fence you fall on (unless of course you end up liking it, in which case you'd spend twice to rent and buy.)

It''s strange that "Shaft" 4K/UHD would be a Best Buy exclusive as it wasn't a box office success, but whatever. I'll buy the 4K stream on iTunes once it discounts down to $9.99. I might do the same with "Yesterday" if iTunes adds Dolby Atmos later on. Anna is another such candidate.

Thanks, Mike. I will pick up The Letter during a future sale, but that's it for me. I am a Chaplin fan, but The Circus isn't a film that I am willing to spend Criterion prices to own.

I watched "The Set-Up" Blu-ray yesterday and it's such a great film. Today, I'll be watching "The Letter" Blu-ray, another great film.

Great classics like The Circus, The Set-Up, and The Letter are must buys for me. Just have been so busy I haven't gotten around to ordering them yet.

Thanks for the Round-Up, Mike!

I intended to cancel a preorder for The Stand...but Amazon shipped it way early. I’m gonna decide if I want to keep it or not. The price point is a bit steep for me.

Otherwise, it looks like Target has a Buy 2 Get 1 deal both online and in store.

Thanks Mike!

I'm reviewing it now. Don't expect it to look Bluray quality. It's 1994 3:2 TV quality with everything that entails. HDDN has screenshots too.

I respect Justin but I totally disagree with his assessment of this as a 4.5 outta 5. This is soft and janky with tons of compression macro blocks.

Look at the hair and eyes.

Being an early 90s TV movie, I'm not expecting a ton in terms of look and sound. I was kinda expecting the price point to drop, though. But you don't have any control over that. ;)

I enjoyed Yesterday but didn't love it. If you watch it with slightly lowered expectations you might like it OK. The main actor did a good job performing the Beatles songs and Ed Sheeran was excellent.

This latest Target Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal kind of sucks. It appears a lot more titles are restricted this time around.

I don't know that it's a BB exclusive. It's the only place I could find it listed (out of the three retailers left in the grid). The BB listing didn't denote any exclusivity status and I figured it my be MIA at Amazon because its a WB title.

Could be.
