I have now watched two episodes of this revenge series: the 90-minute pilot and the first hour-long episode, and the tone now has become clear: it's flippantly grim. These are (in the main) Holocaust survivors who have discovered Nazis living incognito in America in 1977, and they're going after them. You have a cross section of young and old hunters and some really vicious and calculating Nazis biding their time waiting to launch a Fourth Reich.
While I've enjoyed the first two episodes, some of the comic interludes used to introduce characters or dive into the subconscious realms of the hunters seems a bit too flip for so serious and graphically violent a subject. Still trying to digest my feelings, but I'll keep watching.
