CRITERION FLASH SALE Starting February 25, 2020 Noon ET for 24 HRS

Blu-ray.com Moderator got notice from Criterion rep saying this sale will start tomorrow

Normally this is approx 24 hrs though it often ends up lasting a bit longer and doesn't always get off the mark exactly on time. Extensions have been anywhere from zero to to several hours depending on demand and if the server crashes enough times (Soccer Penalty Time). The extensions have been much shorter or nonexistent the last couple sales as their website has functioned better in general

50% off MSRP (not current/Usual price) all in-stock movies -- DVD, BD, Includes Eclipse set, but not general merchandise. Backorders and pre-orders usually haven't been allowed. Items will go OOS so don't wait too long though the last few sales, most
things cam back into stock at least once if not several times during the sale.
The website usually gets hammered in the first couple hrs so be patient.

Free Shipping at $50 in the Lower 48 US otherwise $6.95 flat rate shipping USPS or $8.95 UPS
Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, PO Box, APO/FPO -- $6.95 Priority Mail

No International orders other than Canada
Less than 4lbs -- WorldMail/CanadaPost 9.95 1st + 2.95ea added
Over 4lbs -- DHL Express 19.95 1st + 3.95 each additional item
Customs and Brokerage fees added by Delivery Service/Collected at Delivery and are the responsibility of the customer

Sales Tax has been expanded and now required -- Alabama, California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Washington and Washington D.C
New releases included.

Criterion Loyalty program -- $50Gift Cert for every cumulative purchase of $500 even if it takes 5 years. In the past those loyal rewards certs are sent via email almost immediately and are eligible for immediate use.
If you are close to $500 and have enough total items, I'd suggest making an order just big enough to qualify for the Loyalty Cert plus FS, then make another $50+ order with the extra money rather than make one large order and then have to wait 6 months for the next flash sale though the GC/Rewards don;t expire. You can load them into your account and the $$$ will be there next sale.

I was on the site and reviewing my cart. I wanted to go back to the list and look at something I forgot and now it says that the site is under maintenance. LOL I guess there still is a demand for awesome physical media.

B&N sale I get a better discount (member) and no shipping charge- so pass. But thanks for that list!!

With the Criterion.com Loyalty GC factored in it can be pretty close IF you always order at least $50 to get the FS and esp if you still live in a No Tax state. It also depends on how much you buy at B&N through the year factor in the prorated $25 annual member fee. I think I once figured it was less than $0.05 per item over the year for me -- far better deal than my Prorated Prime calculation.

With B&N member discount and ability to save/buy/use discounted 10-20% B&N GC then I get a much better price at B&N even with local sales tax -- I think my out of pocket is averages $15.50- $16 per Criterion vs a little more than $18ea at Criterion.com. But, I also can get the Flash Sale items 5 months sooner which is worth it to me

Right? This happens to Criterion's site every single time they have a flash sale. It's a PITA, but they eventually fix it.

For Canadians, they may want to looked unobstructedview.com who are at least attempting to run a 50% off Criterion sale as well. Their servers are having far more trouble than Criterions whose site popped back up pretty quickly this time. With shipping, currency exchange, and potential customs issues it may be significantly cheaper through them. They seemed to get pretty high marks the last couple times they piggybacked on one of these US sales

Did the Classic Hitchcock box set ever come back in stock after the last flash sale?

I don't remember, but I don't think so (or not for long). I know a couple people have asked about it and getting a replacement box. Many of the last copies sent out had damaged boxes and cases that had to replaced. It seems several people requested new boxes, but Criterion said they were out. I haven't read any updates on either recently

I had all the items I needed in my cart before the sale started. At precisely noon ET, I pressed Play, the prices changed automatically and I got everything. Used a $50 certificate and earned another $50 certificate. Bought 9 titles and the Karel Zeman box. I think I did very well.

My strong suggestion is to place your desired titles on your wish list (before the sale if possible) the prices will change in the cart but not on the wish list if you put them there at full price.

I ended up getting five. Even though I have 1984 from TT, I decided to go ahead and buy it... again... from Criterion. Plus a couple impulse buys. I'm always drawn to buy movies that have versions unavailable elsewhere. So I had previously gotten The New Word, Heaven's Gate and Tree of Life, and this time I got Until the End of the World.
