Middle Atlantic ships toolless ‘Forward’ AV racks

Middle Atlantic has announced that it is now shipping its ‘Forward’ installation AV rack solutions, which are designed around a new rackrail and patented universal hole pattern for blank and vent panels, cable management and lighting to be installed quickly without tools. The Forward system allows integrators and consumers to build racks “five times faster” for AV setups, according to parent company Legrand.

“When we asked installers where they spend a majority of their time and where they experience the biggest challenges, they told us it was inside the rack,” said Paul Dolynchuk, director of product management at Legrand | AV – Middle Atlantic Products. “Using that feedback, we created Forward. The highly anticipated family of options cleverly solves the most time-consuming rack-building tasks — from working in pitch-black spaces, mounting panels, and anchoring unwieldy cabling spaghetti, to dealing with power blips — without ever picking up a drill. Now integrators can release their inner speed demons, building an AV rack system more quickly and efficiently than they ever thought possible.”

The suite of features of Forward includes lighting fixtures which mount without tools to illuminate the workspace, and cable management and power brackets to keep cable runs tidy with both horizontal and vertical options, also negating the need for tools. Blank and vent panels click into the rackrail itself, while device mounting clamps can secure non-rack mount devices vertically and horizontally. A UPS base is preinstalled too, saving on having to lift the heavy unit into the rack.
