New AirTV Mini improves cord-cutting experience

AirTV has introduced a 4K HDR compatible streaming stick, dubbed ‘Air TV Mini’, which will integrate Sling TV, Netflix and OTA channels into a single user interface, while also acting as a whole-home streaming solution when used with an OTA antenna and an AirTV Wi-Fi-enabled network tuner. The product is aimed at those wishing to find another cord-cutting solution, and is available for $79.99 from AirTV.net.

“The AirTV brand is committed to making local TV relevant and easily accessible to streamers,” said Mitch Weinraub, director of product development for AirTV. “The AirTV Mini is a powerhouse streaming stick with more memory and a faster processor than anything else in the category. When combined with the AirTV network tuner and the Sling TV app, the Mini delivers a superior streaming experience, especially for Slingers who want premium features in a small package at an affordable price.”

The AirTV Mini dongle is plugged into a television’s HDMI input and once the Sling TV app is automatically launched, Netflix is seen as part of the Sling TV interface. Additionally, there is access to “thousands” of Google Play apps, and the Android TV-powered device can integrate OTA channels when paired up with AirTV Wi-Fi network tuners and OTA antennas.

Google Assistant is accessed by pushing a button on the remote to get weather forecasts, traffic info etc., and be able to control smart home functions. Netflix also has its own dedicated remote button, and the device will control both TVs and sound bars. Dedicated Sling TV and voice search buttons facilitate title browsing within whichever app is being used. A remote control finder button helps users prone to drop them behind sofas.

A limited time offer allows new and eligible existing Sling TV customers to get an AirTV Wi-Fi-enabled network tuner with an indoor antenna free when three months of Sling TV is prepaid. However, the subscription must be $25 per month or greater.
