Panasonic unveils SC-HTB01 gaming speaker

Panasonic announced a summer 2020 North American release of the SC-HTB01 gaming speaker, which as been specially designed for gamers with several sound field options and modes available for playback. The three key modes have been developed with SQUARE ENIX and include Role Playing Game (RPG), First-Person Shooter (FPS) and Voice.

RPG mode promises to create a realism and intensity as if a player is “inside the game” with advanced settings to meet verification criteria for ideal gameplay in the latest instalment of the storied gaming franchise Final Fantasy XIV (a game experience which takes players on an adventure through the Final Fantasy series). The FPS mode allows users to hear subtle sounds such as footsteps, making it optimal for FPS and Third-Person Shooter (TPS). The Voice mode will enhance human voices.

The speaker includes immersive audio options such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS and Virtual:XTM. The SC-HTB01 also features a “compact and integrated” design, at 17 inches wide and 2 inches high, as well as a 2.1 channel 3-way speaker system with built-in subwoofer, so the unit can be placed optimally in front of a monitor, TV or projector screen.

The speaker has 4K/HDR pass-through, Bluetooth connectivity and high-resolution audio playback (PCM, up to 192kHz/24-bit), smart featues, and HDMI input/output. The SC-HTB01 will be available from June but you can keep an eye on the latest from Panasonic here.
