Pro Audio Technology expands SR series speaker line

Pro Audio Technology has announced three new model additions to the SR series of loudspeakers, the SR-25im, SR-6im and the SR-26im, in addition to a pivot bracket for installation flexibility. PAT says that the models include the same “professional-grade” speaker components as the company’s high-end speakers, but in more discreet form factors aimed at home theater and multi-room applications.

The new speakers replace existing PRO models: SR-25im replaces SCRS-25im, SR-6im replaces SCRS-6im, and SR-26im replaces SCRS-26im. New pivot brackets – with their ability to provide 50 degrees of rotation – and designed to make installation easier, are claimed to be ideal for Dolby Atmos rooms where it is necessary to aim speakers towards the listener.

Details of each of the three new models, with claimed performance specs from the manufacturer, are listed below in italics:

SR-25im

SR-25im uses a ¾-inch high frequency compression driver mounted on a proprietary waveguide, and dual high-power 5-inch long-throw woofers. The SR-25im has a low-frequency sensitivity of 96dB/W, high-frequency sensitivity of 109 dB/W and a frequency range of 80Hz – 18kHz, and is designed for front and surround or distributed audio applications.

SR-26im

Big brother to the SR-25im, and able to fit into a 2×4 stud bay, the SR-26im employs a new Ultra-Purity 1-inch high frequency compression driver mounted on a second generation PRO ellipsi-symmetrical waveguide, and dual high-power 6.5-inch long-throw woofers for systems that require deeper bass, and higher output capabilities. The SR-26im has a low-frequency sensitivity of 99dB/W, high-frequency sensitivity of 108 dB/W and a frequency range of 54Hz – 23kHz.

SR-6im

Little brother to the SR-26im, the SR-6im features the same driver components but with a single woofer, providing installers with a lower cost and smaller speaker option. The SR-26im has a low-frequency sensitivity of 93dB/W, high-frequency sensitivity of 108 dB/W and a frequency range of 58Hz – 31kHz.

When combined with PRO’s DSP loudspeaker controllers, the system is capable of high frequency response contouring, dynamics processing, and critical time alignment. The company says it is providing installers with engineering data, EASE complex polar data, and 360-degree on- and off-axis response measurements, so that system designers can have more data at their disposal to model acoustical performance for each individual system.

“The new additions to the SR Series, including the unique pivot bracket, provide integrators with three in-wall, multi-use loudspeakers with installation flexibility like never before,” said Paul Hales, President and Product Designer of Pro Audio Technology. “A refresh to PRO’s most attainable loudspeakers, we know integrators will appreciate the acoustic enhancements, new design, and added installation possibilities.”

The new SR Series speakers will ship in September, and will be on display at CEDIA Expo in booth #SR-6, September 10 – 14, 2019. For more information, click here.
