VIZIO 2019 audio collection available now

Last week, VIZIO announced availability of its 2019 audio collection, including the 36″ 5.1.4 and 36″ 3.1.2 ‘Premium Home Theater Sound Systems’ with Dolby Atmos. Both the 5.1.4 and 3.1.2 configurations feature upward-firing speakers, with up to 10 channels of audio supported. From this summer, the 36″ 5.1.4 ($699.99 MSRP) will be available from Amazon and the 36″ 3.1.2 ($469.99 MSRP) from Best Buy. Another 20″ 2.0 Sound Bar ($69.99 MSRP) can be purchased now from Walmart and rolling out this summer to Best Buy and Target.

“Audio needs vary from home to home, which is why VIZIO is continuously adding new configurations to our collection,” said Bill Baxter, Chief Technology Officer, VIZIO. “With the latest collection, we’re providing consumers with a wide range of options to complement a variety of spaces and budgets. From versatile sound bars designed to improve audio quality in smaller rooms, to premium models featuring Dolby Atmos that are designed to deliver immersive, multi-dimensional sound at a great value, we’ve ensured there’s a solution to suit any user’s audio entertainment needs.”

The company says the available wireless subwoofers in the line produce “room-shaking bass” down to 40Hz. The 36″ 5.1.4 includes a wireless subwoofer with a 6-inch driver, offering up a claimed 103dB of output. The 3.1.2 iteration has a slim subwoofer that can be placed under a sofa or other discreet location. The systems also feature Chromecast built-in, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Google Play Music and TIDAL, and by touching the “Cast” button or downloading the SmartCast Mobile app, a device can become a touchscreen remote for streaming and/or tuning the audio system. The 36″ systems offer voice control via Google Assistant, and Bluetooth is available on all products.

VIZIO says it will also be offering new versions of its 36″ 5.1 and 2.1 Sound Bar Systems, which both feature slim subwoofers and are capable of 100 dB of output and bass frequencies down to 50 Hz. The 36″ 5.1 sound bar will be available for $249.99 MSRP and 36″ 2.1 sound bar is available now at Costco.com and VIZIO.com for $149.99 MSRP.
