The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Best Buy, this week, has another llousy media section in its Sunday flyer.

–Best Buy has EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING with its copies of Halloween (2018).  Not sure of which formats, though.  And, no prices listed.

–The Best Buy ad also displays Blu copies of Halloween (2018) and Goosebumps 2.  No prices listed.

–And, Best Buy also shows Blu-ray copies of Hell Fest, The Predator, The Nun, Slender Man and Venom.  And it says “starting at $19.99.”

–Best Buy’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

–Target this week has a number of Blu-ray catalog titles listed in their Sunday flyer:

$14.99:  Ocean’s 8, The Greatest Showman, Ready Player One

$19.99:  Black Panther, Incredibles 2, Avengers: Infinity War, Hotel Transylvania 3, Deadpool 2, The House With a Clock in Its Walls, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again

Hey R-R-RoundUppers!

Some interesting stuff out there this week.

I'll be picking up Notorious down the road. In the meantime, I'm taking a flyer on The Old Man and the Gun. I thought the trailers that aired on TV during its run made it look like fun. But I never got to the theater to see it.

Safe shopping!

Thanks for the RoundUp!

Yes, Notorious is a definite must have, and if I can find Obsession for a decent price down the line, I'll replace my barely watched once DVD with it.

Thanks, Mike!

Nothing for me this week.

The Old Man and the Gun was very good and I think you will like it, but I'm not sure it would be something I would want to replay very much, so I don't feel like I need it right away. Maybe after a price drop.

I'll be picking up Halloween this week and at some point, I'll get Notorious and Obsession (I guess in the last few months, Amazon realized that they were the only major retailer for Shout titles and decided to screw the consumer by giving almost no discount any more).

Thanks for the prices, Mike! :)

I have "Cliffhanger" and "Notorious" coming to me this week and will order the 4K/UHD of "Halloween" at a discounted price and the same with the "The Glass Key" BD.

Thanks, Mike! I will pick up Notorious during a future sale, and will consider upgrading my BD of Cliffhanger to 4K/UHD if the price drops to $15 or less.

I wasn't going to purchase anything this week, but I really like the idea of these retro VHS covers, and since A) I don't currently own it, and B) the price is so low, I went ahead and pre-ordered Last Action Hero. Marketing wins me over, again!

The remainder I will be holding off on purchasing for when the pricing goes down:
  • The Glass Key
  • Notorious (B&N sale)
  • Obsession

All right, I lied, I did pick up something this week after all.

The soundtrack to Juliet, Naked (which I bought on Blu-ray a couple weeks ago when Target had 15% off movie) dropped to $10.69 on Amazon so I grabbed that finally to go with the movie.

I just wanted to mention this as an excuse to say that Juliet, Naked is one of my favorite films of last year that I don't know anyone else who actually saw, and I'D highly recommend it for anyone who is interested. The title makes it sound like a porn movie but it's not; it refers to an acoustic ("naked") version of Ethan Hawke's character's album. The soundtrack is pretty good too.
