The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Another week of Twilight Time releases.  You know the drill.  They can only be pre-ordered HERE and HERE.

–Some more region-free releases from Powerhouse Films in the UK.  Pre-order HERE.

–Best Buy, this week, has advertised no prices on new releases (not even First Man!).

–Best Buy has a list of $14.99 4k/UHD titles (Choose from more than 20 titles):  The Greatest Showman, Tomb Raider, The Predator, The Spy Who Dumped Me, Skyscraper, Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again, Kin, BlacKKlansman, The First Purge, Red Sparrow, Deadpool 2.

–And BB has a list of $9.99 Blu-ray titles (Choose from more than 30 titles):  Super Trooper 2, Ready Player One, Smallfoot, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, The Darkest Minds, A Quiet Place, The Meg, Crazy Rich Asians, Rampage, Ocean’s 8, The Nun, Teen Titans Go to the Movies

–Best Buy’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

–Target this week has advertised prices on two new releases (see grid) and two recent Blu-ray releases:

$22.99:  Halloween (2018), Goosebumps 2

–And in a move which I hope is a one-off, Target has taken a page out of Best Buy’s playbook and has the largest part of their flyer page devoted to media hawking a sale of the “Best of 2018 Movies & Music—over 100 more titles on sale!” And those titles are “Starting at $10.”  Please Target, say it ain’t so!

Hey RoundUppers!

Kind of a quiet week. Although look for a new round of Twilight Time releases!

And I think its becoming clear that printed Sunday advertising flyers distributed inside daily newspapers are becoming increasingly irrelevant and probably soon-to-be-extinct.

I plan on renting First Man and The Hate U Give, but neither look like they have the rewatchability to merit a purchase.

I appreciate you persevering, nevertheless. Checking the RoundUp each week has become a staple of my Saturdays.

Clearly printed flyers inside daily newspapers are becoming extinct, yet looking up those exact items on their websites is not.

I didn't see The Hate U Give but can confirm that that's how I felt about First Man upon watching it in the theater. It's a great film though.

Nothing for me this week on the movie side of things, but I have a CD coming that I'm looking forward to getting that should be here soon.

4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days will go on my list for sometime when there's a Criterion sale. The DreamWorks animated catalog titles are of some interest, but after waiting so long for them to arrive on Blu-ray, I can wait a little longer to get them since the next month or so is going to be more crowded with new release titles that I want.

And thank you, Mike, as always for your work.

First Man, The Return of Frank James, Beat the Devil for sure. Maybe some others, too.

Thanks, Mike!
