The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Best Buy is ratcheting up the frustration level in their Sunday flyer in terms of software prices (see below).  So, if you want to investigate further into Best Buy’s prices this week, their Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

–Best Buy, this week, has EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING with their UHD 4k release of The Dark Tower.  If interested, you WILL pay a $2 premium for the privilege of owning the steelbook.  It is priced at $29.99–higher than the regular UHD price of $27.99.

–Here’s where the pricing “fun” begins.

–Best Buy is advertising a number of 4k UHD titles on sale this week (STARTING AT $14.99).  Titles shown are Baby Driver, John Wick 2, The Fifth Element, Logan, Blade Runner, Ghost Ship and Red 2.

–Best Buy is also advertising “Recently Released Hits on Blu-ray” STARTING AT $19.99.  Titles shown are Spider-Man: Homecoming, The War for the Planet of the Apes, Transformers: The Last Knight.

–To take it to an even more absurd level, BB is advertising Wonder Woman…STARTING AT $12.99.  The DVD is shown in the ad.

–And, Best Buy is advertising”Halloween Favorites” STARTING AT $3.99 (choose from 36 titles),  Titles shown are DVDs of Hocus Pocus, Monsters, Inc, and the two-pack of Hotel Transylvania/Hotel Transylvania 2.

–BB sucks.

–Best Buy Odds and Ends:  Pre-order Cars 3 @ Best Buy.  No deal is given.  No price is given.  But Best Buy will have an EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK for Cars 3.

–Target this week has the following recent Blu-ray releases on sale for $19.99 apiece:  The War for the Planet of the Apes, The Emoji Movie.

–Target Odds and Ends: None to report.

Thanks, Mike! As always, your work in putting this together is much appreciated.

Castle in the Sky and Naussica of the Valley of the Wind are on my wish list this week, but after having gotten three new Blu-rays in the last week and a half (including two of the other Gkids Gibli reissues), they'll have to wait. The other Gkids releases are great, so I'm sure they're very good, and Naussica's price is nice, but it is not one of my favorite Giblis, so I'm good deferring it until later. I've got too much coming up in November to do these two now.

Wasn't Olive Films also releasing Rock-A-Doodle and S.O.S. Tidal Wave this Tuesday?

I remember liking Rock-A-Doodle as a kid, but haven't seen it in years. $19.99 seems a bit high for a catalog title though.

Thanks for the Round-Up Mike!

As the Kino Sale starts on Wednesday November 1-through November 14... I may be short of funds for other items :drum:

I eventually plan to get Dawson City: Frozen Time ... if it's not part of the Kino sale

Thanks for the prices, Mike!

The Miracle Worker will definitely be a purchase! One of my all-time favorite films.

The last time I waded into the Cartwheel deals, I inadvertently stepped all over Mike's fine work. But I'm gonna try again!

Cartwheel has a 25% off Batman vs. Two Face (DVD or BD). That should bring the price down...

I'm still covered in your footprints, Jason! :D

Nope. I got nothing on this Cartwheel deal. You are way out in front of me on this one!

Yay! (Well, on the second...not the first!! ;)

Let's try some more:

If anyone uses ibotta, Target also has $3 cash back on Spider-Man Homecoming and The Emoji Movie. The offer says BD or DVD only...but Emoji Movie lists a few variations which will work (including UHD). Spider-Man doesn't. Best bet is to scan the barcode in store to see what works. (Spider-Man will also apparently work at BB...?)

Ebates also has their standard 1% cash back at BB in store; Target's 1% is good on online orders (I think).

I can't promise anything, as things are a little crazy here at the house at the moment, but I will do my best to get a UHD review of Dark Tower and Blu-ray reviews of Land of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead (2004) up this week.
