The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Best Buy, this week, has an EXCLUSIVE RELEASE of Finding Dory on Blu-ray.  The EXCLUSIVE content consists of an “activity book.”

–Best Buy is also advertising STEELBOOK PACKAGING with its Blu copies of Game of Thrones: Season 6 (also, GOT: Season 5).  The steelbook season releases are $44.99 apiece.

–If you buy last week’s UHD releases of the four Hunger Games films at Best Buy, they’ll give you $20 savings.  Now, if only they let you know in the ad how much they are going to charge for each title.  <rolleyes>

–Best Buy is advertising a deal to get “up to $8” toward one admission of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” with the purchase of select titles.  The only title shown in the ad (again, without a price) is the 8-film Blu Harry Potter collection.

–Best Buy Odds and Ends:  Purchase select titles at Best Buy and get FREE Minion mittens!  The only title shown is the Blu-ray of Minions.  (Surprise!  No price shown.)

–Target this week has an EXCLUSIVE RELEASE of Finding Dory on Blu-ray—for which you will pay dearly.  The release features, however, EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING and FOUR COLLECTIBLE LITHOGRAPH CARDS.  The price will be $27.99.

–Target is also advertising EXCLUSIVE BONUS CONTENT with its Blu-ray release this week of Game of Thrones: Season 6.  The bonus content includes behind-the-scenes footage.

–Target Odds and Ends: A number of Dreamworks DVDs are on sale between $5 and $7.50.

I've pre-ordered Finding Dory and Moby Dick this week.

I think they would combine for a terrific seafaring double feature, dontcha think?!? :D

Safe shopping, RoundUppers! Thanks for "liking" the OP. Those are always noticed and appreciated!

:dancing-banana-04:

Start battening down the hatches and making preparations for Black Friday!

Thanks for your work as usual, Mike.

It's worth noting that Target has already publicly released its Black Friday flyer, which features Finding Dory for $10...so if you want to wait a week and fight the crowds on that day, it will be cheaper than it is this week.

That being said, I am getting the steelbook, which is already on its way to me via Target.com with $5 gift card for preorder, which lessens the sting of that price a bit. I wouldn't normally do this, but Dory is a special film and I want it to look extra special on my shelf. So, this time, I will.

The Beatles documentary was awesome, but I don't like the price so will wait for it to go down before I consider getting it.

I would be interested in the additional extras on Star Wars and Jungle Book 3D, but don't have any use for 3D itself and don't want to reward Disney's shameless double-dipping, so I'm just going to stick with the regular Blu-rays I already have for those titles.

Disney fans will also want to note that the soundtrack for Moana releases on Friday, in advance of its theatrical release next Wednesday the 23r, in both single-disc and double-disc deluxe packages (the latter of which will have demos and alternate tracks similar to how they handled Frozen a couple years ago.) That, too, is pre-ordered and will be on its way to me from Amazon,

Thanks as always Mike!

I guess with the delay for Game of Thrones Season 7, they decided to move up the Season 6 Blu-Ray release and take advantage of holiday shoppers. I'm notoriously difficult to shop for, so that's going on the Christmas list. Nothing else for me this week!

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike!

I'll be reviewing four of this month's Twilight Time releases once they're out, and The Best of Cinerama arrived late this afternoon, so I'll be getting to that tomorrow.

Add my thanks in to ya, Mike!

A big week for me:
  • Boomerang
  • Cry of the City
  • Daisy Kenyon
  • Houdini
  • The House on 92nd Street
  • Lulu Belle
  • Man on Fire
  • One of our Aircraft is Missing
  • Pimpernel Smith
  • Time After Time
It didn't seem bad when I was pre-ordering these, but now that I see how many are on their way... and I still have to figure out how I am going to pick up some of those Twilight Time films.

Thanks as always, Mike. It's much appreciated. I'll be getting Finding Dory now and some others like Boomerang in the future. I'm also very tempted by The Force Awakens in 3D. Are any of the special features new?

I believe the new stuff is a commentary from J.J. Abrams, 4 or 5 new featurettes (some of which were retailer exclusives) and 2 or 3 new deleted scenes.

I just cancelled my order for Lulu Belle from Amazon. They showed it without a shipping date, and I pre-ordered it back on September 5th.
I'll wait for the next sale.

Wal*Mart had "All versions of Finding Dory ... Except 4K" per a cashier in the Electronics department for $15.00 (AFAIK there isn't a 4K UHD)

Wal*Mart's Exclusive for GOT Season 6 Bluray is an additional disc "The Special effects of" Target's is "The Fight for Meereen" it's on a separate bluray in a bluray thin-case attached to the package

Target's exclusive for Finding Dory on bluray is a steelbook with cards
