The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Hey gang!

Quiet week for me. But the Criterion sale at Barnes & Noble is still doing a fair amount of damage to my bank account!

My wife loves The Goodbye Girl so I might spring for that eventually. And I could see myself picking up Western Union someday, too. I'll just wait for some amazing deals..

Safe shopping! Thanks for any likes for the OP. I always appreciate the fact that youse guys leave those "likes." Many thanks.

Thanks Mike. Nothing for me this week, which is the last week for a while where I will be able to say that, so I'm good. Target's website is also advertising an exclusive Sausage Party steelbook, but I haven't seen the actual print ad so don't know if that will be in-store but would assume so. For some reason Target.com is not taking orders for it now, but says it will be available 11/8: http://www.target.com/p/sausage-party-target-exclusive-steelbook-blu-ray/-/A-51517470.

Guess you've got to deicide between the steelbook and the T-shirt. Personally, I thought the film was cute, but sort of a one-joke idea that ran out of ways to be funny after about 20 minutes and just relied on the usual sex jokes from Rogen and crew after that, so while it was worth seeing once, I won't need it in my collection.

I wanted to see Phantom Boy but we didn't get it in theaters, so I might rent it at some point but will not blind buy for $22.99.

Huh. Thanks.

Interesting, Jake. Sausage Party isn't even mentioned in this week's Target flyer.

Kinda odd. They sell other R-rated movies there...

I picked up Western Union (and more) from the Kino-Lorber sale, and cancelled my Amazon pre-order.
Will have to hold off on Springfield Rifle, as I already have spent more than I probably should have, with the Kino sale and the Barnes & Noble Criterion sale, not to mention on the Real Gone Christmas Music re-issues that also came out this week!

It's a fairly quiet week review-wise for me though I've already gotten five items for the following week, so I'll have reviews coming pretty much every day. Nothing much in the buy column either.

Thanks for the prices, Mike!

Sausage Party in 4K/UHD is on the way to me from Sony, so a review will be up by mid week.

Hunger Games is in progress, but there is a possible issue with Catching Fire. The disc would not load on my Samsung player, and many other review sites are having similar issues. I'll pass on any news as I get it.

I'm surprised there isn't a UHD version of the Taxi Driver release.

Target's website isn't accepting orders for the Sausage steelbook yet; it's listed and priced, but you can't actually order it for some reason.

Sausage Party was funny as hell, but I don't know if it has much rewatchabilty for me. Perhaps if I can find it for 5 bucks on Black Friday.

I caught the Phantom Boy at the SIFF - pretty good flick. Recommended!

Otherwise, not much this week that's catching my eye. Good thing, too as my credit card is still whimpering from all the Halloween sales.

Picked up the bold titles above at Best Buy yesterday. This almost guarantees they'll be available much cheaper on Black Friday. <_<

Also stopped at BJ's Wholesale and, while their prices were largely laughable (they're having "Sales" on a couple of the above titles for $19.99, while BB next door is offering them for $5 less), they did have a few CBS DVD series sets (similar to those offered at Walmart) on sale. Sadly, I don't recall any of the titles except the one I bought, Tales From the Darkside: The Complete Series, for $19.99 (Walmart has it for $29.99).

Now that it is the release date, Target.com is accepting orders for the Sausage Party steelbook, and several stores in my area are showing it as in-stock. I have no idea why they would have commissioned an exclusive if they weren't going to advertise the title in their flyer, but there you go.

I noted that the artwork in the store differs slightly in that the in-store packages have a white "Rated R" sticker affixed to them but the image from the HTF UHD review has the sticker on the artwork ...
