The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Best Buy, this week, has no Sunday flyer in my local paper.

–Best Buy’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

–Target this week has an EXCLUSIVE GALLERY BOOK with their Blu-ray release of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch.  The release is priced at $22.99.  I do not know if that’s a premium price above and beyond a standard Blu release as one is not listed in the Sunday flyer.

–Target is also advertising some kids DVDs:

$4.99:  Berenstain Bears: Adventures in Bear Country

$9.99:  Minnie’s Happy Helpers, Sesame Street: Celebrate Family

$14.99:  Scooby-Doo and the Curse of the 13th Ghost

Thank you, Mike!

Nothing for me this week. Widows was a really good movie, but I don't feel the need to rush out and buy it. I would recommend it strongly as a rental for those who missed it in theaters, though.

Remember when Jim Carrey and Ron Howard did their Grinch, it had like a year-long theater-to-video window as Universal held it back to release it the following holiday season? How times have changed.

Charly for me, maybe, sometime down the road when it hits a sale.

And Shadowlands. I can never remember...do Uni titles drop price reasonably quickly?

Too bad The Sisters Brothers isn't getting a 4K release, but I'll pick it up anyway since I missed it during its theatrical run. Thanks, as always, for your hard work on the Roundup, Mike!

I'll see The Sisters Brothers too at some point. I missed it theatrically as well, but I don't know about a blind purchase. Maybe a rental.

Looking at the grid again, I somehow overlooked the fact that The Guilty is coming out this week, but it's right there in the grid. That is one hell of a film, and I will have to pick it up at some point. It feels like a short theatrical-to-video window because my arthouse just screened it a few weeks ago, but according to Box Office Mojo it's been out since October, so I guess it's not and we just got it late.

But the next few weeks are really crowded with new releases that I want -- A Star is Born, Ralph Breaks the Internet and The Little Mermaid -- so since I just saw The Guilty, I feel like I can wait on it for a bit.

It's really terrific though and deserved to be nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. It made the shortlist, but didn't get a nomination. I highly recommend a rental of it if anybody is interested and will be picking it up myself down the road for sure.
