The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Another week of Twilight Time releases.  You know the drill.  They can only be pre-ordered HERE and HERE.

–Best Buy, this week, has, apparently, NO printed Sunday flyer…yet again.

–Best Buy’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

–Not much in Target’s flyer this week (but at least they always have one!):  the two new releases shown in the grids and the recent Blu-ray releases of The Greatest Showman and Ferdinand.  Both are priced at $19.99 apiece.

–Target’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

I am intrigued by this release...but not having seen it, I'm not really sure what to expect. Probably what intrigues me most is the pairing of MacMurray and Colbert.

The Awful Truth is on my list for the next Criterion sale (it's kind of a long list right now, too). And I'll probably pick up The Post somewhere down the line...but I can certainly wait until there is some serious price drop.

In addition to most of the featured poster releases this week, I will also want to add The Thrill of It All, The List of Adrian Messenger, and Les Girls. BIG week for me.

Thanks, Mike!

Do NOT buy Camp Nowhere- the sound is STILL in mono, as it was on the Mill Creek Blu-Ray. How in the world do these things happen?

I always end up finding 2 movies in a three movie deal I wouldn't mind having. BB's Universal UHD sale is an example.I wouldn't mind getting both King Kong and ET...but no third is jumping out at me. The WB 3/$50 UHD sale is another...Inception and Kong...I can maybe see Pacific Rim? But it doesn't excite me.

Thanks Mike!

The Awful Truth is one of my and my wife's favorite screwball comedies, but I've already bought it in VHS and DVD. The Columbia DVD has an excellent picture, and a lot of extras, so it's probably not worth getting the Criterion edition if you have the prior Columbia release.

I, for one, am a bit tired of re-buying the same releases for minimal improvements.

Still, If you don't have The Awful Truth in your collection; it's a keeper!

That's funny. The DVD I have of The Awful Truth has a dirty and somewhat damaged transfer. Did they do a later one that cleaned and repaired the earlier release? One of the things I'm most looking forward to is Criterion's transfer which I expect to be a pretty huge improvement to what I currently have.
