The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Best Buy is closed on Easter Sunday..

–And, it’s yet another week without a Sunday flyer for Best Buy.  So no Specials and no Prices from them.

–Best Buy Odds and Ends:  None to report.

–Target will also be closed on Easter Sunday.

–Target is advertising EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING with its copies of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract.  No pricing premium for the steelbook.

–Target Odds and Ends: Target continues to advertise last week’s release of Hidden Figures:  $17.99 DVD/$19.99 Blu-ray Combo pack.

Thanks, Mike, for your work. Nothing new for me this week.

The Founder was worth seeing for Michael Keaton's performance and would be a worthwhile rental for fans of him, but wouldn't justify revisiting enough for me to purchase it. The cast is very good, especially Keaton, but the film itself is rather pedestrian.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike.

I did review a DVD that appears on this week's list: Bigger Fatter Liar. The review can be found here.

Ack! Link added to the RoundUp, Matt! Sorry.

I'll probably pick up Woman Of The Year during a Criterion sale but nothing this week. I thought Split was a pretty cool little movie and worth a rental.

I've got Woman of the Year coming to me from Target. I had ordered it as part of their recent Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale.

Oh..And I forgot to thank you all for any "likes" of the OP. Youse guys is de best!!

Somehow I forgot The Judas Project was coming out this week. It should be in my hands tomorrow.

Thanks Mike!

I picked up Split at Target tonight. I saw it in the theaters, but the wife didn't and I'm looking forward to watching it again with her. I will definitely pick up Woman of the Year at the next Barnes & Noble Criterion sale. I'll probably pick up a couple of the Kino releases too.

Thanks as always, Mike!

No new releases for me this week, but I finally pulled the trigger on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Barnes & Noble had the 2D Blu-Ray for its usual outrageous list price, but after stacking the discounts it was quite reasonable:

On release day, I was looking to pay $19.99 or less, so this brought it down to my target price range. Of course, having finally pulled the trigger, one of the big B&Ms with probably have it even cheaper in this Sunday's ad.

So here's a question for youse guys in-the-know.

Target next week is advertising a bonus disc (probably a DVD since it doesn't say otherwise) with 30 minutes of bonus material with its Blu-ray copies of La La Land.

My question is...does Target usually make those bonus discs available on its 4k (or DVD) copies that they sell? Cuz I would cancel my long-standing Amazon order of the 4k for even more bonus material if they did.

T'anks, Bryan!

Ya know what? I might actually double-dip on release day to pick up the Target exclusive along with a 4k copy that's coming to me from Amazon--just to get that extra bonus material. Wish I knew exactly what it was.

A potential route might be to wait to the week or so before Mothers' Day when it will probably be on sale (possibly under $15) and sometimes there will still be copies of the special edition left (it ain't Star Wars) but I would check the scanner to make sure it rings at the sale price ...

per the Target website: Only at Target: 30 minutes of additional content.
