The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Best Buy, this week, still has no printed Sunday flyer.  Happy Earth Day/Week/Month!

–Best Buy Odds and Ends:  None to report.

–Target this week has the following BLU-RAY titles on sale:

$19.99:  Revenant, Hateful Eight, Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2, Peanuts Movie.

$23.99:  Star Wars: The Force Awakens

–Target Odds and Ends: None to report.

Hellllooooooooooo RoundUppers!

A rather minimalistic RoundUp this week.

I'm on vacation and haven't been around the forum much this week.

Fortunately, for me, a nice quiet week. Not much by way of big releases...although HD upgrades of Brief Encounter, Dolemite and Dillinger intrigue me.

Thanks--as always--for any "likes" to the OP! Always noticed and appreciated!

They pushed the Monkees box set to June 24th. That's according to their website. Bummer! BTW, cost is $199.98.

I'll get "Krampus," but I don't need it until the holidays. Not sure why they're releasing this now rather than waiting until November. I'll wait for a price drop.

I reviewed Death Becomes Her a couple of weeks ago. That review can be found here. I'm still waiting on the Twilight Time review materials for April, but otherwise, I have nothing from this week's list left to review. I'll be dipping into other materials this week.

Thanks for the RoundUp!

Thanks, Mike!

I'd forgotten that this was the week that the Blu-ray of Dolemite comes out. I think I'll wait until next month when the sequel (The Human Tornado) comes out and then get both at once. I have the old Rudy Ray Moore DVD collection from about 15 years ago, but I'm looking forward to these restored versions. (Hopefully, Vinegar Syndrome is also planning on Blus for Moore's other films, Disco Godfather and Petey Wheatstraw.)

For now, I've got The Inspector Collection and Sssssss on order.

As always, thanks for your work, Mike.

PHOENIX is one of the best films I've seen in a long time and I am delighted that Criterion picked it up for its Blu-ray release. Typically I would wait for a sale on Criterions (which is why I haven't yet picked up Inside Llewyn Davis from them which came out in January), but this film is too good to wait on, so I'm swallowing hard and paying $27.99 to have it on the way from Amazon on Tuesday.

Anyone who has not seen the film should note that it is already available on Netflix streaming, and I highly recommend checking it out, although I want to have the disc to own it and to see the supplements Criterion has put together.

That's it for me this week, but I've been looking forward to it for a long time, as I last saw the film when it played in the theater here all the way back last August.
