The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Pickins' might be slim this week but there are some choice nuggets among what's newly available.

For me, Easy Living and Death Takes a Holiday will eventually be mine. And maybe Do the Right Thing (a film I've never seen).

Safe shopping, RoundUppers!

I agree, Mike. Aside from a couple of classics, it's pretty slim pickins' this week.

Thanks for the prices, anyway.

Just a heads up that there is a major Kino sale this week starting on Tuesday, July 23rd at about Noon ET. The sale runs through August 4th.

Also, Shout! Factory is having a 20% off sale for titles already released thru July 16th. You have to spend at least $80 for that 20% to come off. I believe that sale runs until July 26th.

Got a couple Disney events coming up I'm trying to save money for, so I'm sitting this week out unless something too good to pass up comes around. Thank you, as always, Mike!

My pre-order of Missing Link (which should arrive tomorrow) has not shipped yet, and I can still cancel it -- not that I want to cancel it, but the option exists, which means that it hasn't yet entered the process of being prepared for shipment. This seems very odd to me, since usually by the time I wake up on Monday morning, any pre-orders for the next day have shipped.

Then I remembered that Missing Link is being distributed on disc via Fox, which is now Disney. This begs the question: is this title also being affected by the ongoing Disney/Amazon pissing contest?

If it were a "Disney" Disney title, I wouldn't even try to order it from Amazon; I would just go to a store. Has anyone else had any issues pre-ordering Fox titles from Amazon in the last few months since they became a Disney subsidiary?

And, if anyone else is buying Missing Link, has yours shipped yet?

I've had a number of titles from Amazon doing that lately. Currently, my copy of the Universal Horror Collection hasn't shipped yet but I still fully expect to get it tomorrow. For my deliveries, they've almost exclusively have been using Amazon delivery and I guess they don't ship until the last possible moment.

Well, this is all settled. My shipping notice came in this afternoon at 12:57pm, which is the latest I've ever had for a Tuesday pre-order, but it's being sent USPS and should still arrive with tomorrow's mail.

I'd pre-ordered Critters Attack! a couple months ago and it arrived in the mail while I was on vacation. I just got around to watching it a couple nights ago and discovered that the blu-ray in my combo pack was defective. It's just a transparent clear plastic disc with the title printed on it, it doesn't look like the data layer was even included in the disc. Of course, this was about 5 days past Best Buy's 15 day return policy. So I watched the DVD part of the combo instead.

The movie was OK if you're a fan of the franchise. It was kind of a throwback as they used all puppets again for the Krites, as in the 80's movies, rather than CGI. The Krites also seemed quite a bit larger than in past films. I was kind of disappointed that it was largely missing the humor from the original films. But it was fun enough that I'll likely buy another copy of the blu-ray when the price drops below $10, or I find a used copy.
