The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Another week of Twilight Time releases.  You know the drill.  They can only be pre-ordered HERE and HERE.

–Some more region-free releases from Powerhouse Films in the UK.  Pre-order HERE.

–Best Buy, this week, has EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING with their 4k/UHD and standard Blu-ray copies of Deadpool 2.  The steelbook packaging will cost more.   The ad text says the EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOKS “start at $29.99.” (That’s $7 more than the standard Blu release at BB.)

–Best Buy also repeats its deal on TV series from last week.  “Free $10 Best Buy Gift Card when you spend $50 or more on select TV seasons.”  Included in the titles shown as part of the deal are this week’s releases of Walking Dead: S8 and Ash vs. Evil Dead: Season 3 (LE Steelbook).  Also shown is Game of Thrones: S7 (all Blu-rays).

–Best Buy’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

–Target this week has an EXCLUSIVE (Not Suitable For) Children’s Book included with their 4k/UHD and Blu-ray versions of DeadPool 2.  There is no premium pricing upcharge for that book.

–Target is also advertising an EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK release of the Blu-ray of The Walking Dead: Season 8.  There IS a $3 pricing upcharge for the steelbook release.  It will be $42.99 (above the $39.99 price for the standard Blu release.

–Target is also advertising a number of Marvel Blu-ray titles for $22.99.  Titles shown include:  Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, Captain America: Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok, Ant-Man, Iron Man 3.

–Target is also advertising the Blu-ray of Life of the Party for $22.99.

Hey RoundUppers!

Another week which brings a collection of some interesting new releases combined with some deep catalog titles.

But just Deadpool 2 for me. I didn't get to it in the theater so am really looking forward to seeing this next chapter. I've pretty much given up on all super hero films. But, Deadpool is just, well....different! :D Just a little bit! Am I right?!?

And Heaven Can Wait at some future CC sale. But I've got SUCH a backlog of CC and other titles right now...I'm in no rush.

Safe shopping!

Thank you, Mike!

I hope you like it more than I did, but I thought Deadpool 2 was significantly worse than the first film and a big disappointment to me, so I don't need to buy that disc. The end credits scene was hilarious, but everything leading up to it didn't work for me.

So, nothing for me this week. A few of those Marvel catalog titles on sale at Target that I don't have yet should enter my collection eventually, but not for $22.99.

I'll pick up Deadpool 2 down the road, once the price comes down. I enjoyed it in theaters, more than I thought I would, but I'm not in a big rush to see it again.

That's a really good price for the complete series of "Masters of Sex" on Blu, but I don't have the time to tackle another whole show right now.

So nothing for me! Time to chip away at the backlog.

Nothing for me as I spent my movie money at the Kino sale.

Will upgrade Heaven Can Wait to blu at Barnes & Noble later this year.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike.

I did have a review for this week - the DVD set of NCIS: The Fifteenth Season. It can be found here.

Deadpool 2 will be a blind buy for me, too, and I also pre-ordered Strait-Jacket/Berserk months ago, so looking forward to seeing both of those again after many years away from each. The Last Hunt is one I've never seen before, but it's coming on TCM this week, and I have set the DVR to catch it for me. If I like it, I'll be adding that Blu-ray to the collection at some point.

You should enjoy "The Last Hunt" especially the ending which was unique for the time that film was made.

Hmmm...Amazon now indicates the Strait-Jacket/Berserk! double feature isn't releasing until September 25.

And the link is now in the RoundUp.

I can't say I'm surprised by your review, Todd. I haven't seen the film. But as a dog lover I give close attention to all films about dogs and the trailer for this one couldn't even come close to making it look good.
