Amazon France has posted a American Graffiti 4K & Blu-Ray 50th Anniversary SteelBook edition for a August 30th release. I guess chances are good Universal will release one here in the states sometime this year.

I was hoping for this to be released in 4K Ultra HD, saw it four times at the movies when it was first released.

Great film and the current Blu-Ray was released over 10 years ago so i hope there's room for improvement.

It'll look better since that Blu-Ray transfer stunk. But keep in mind that this was shot in Techniscope, so its a 2k-grade image by default.

At least we don’t have to worry about who shot first in this film. It really is a good film, and I’ll probably get the UHD.

Technically the "original version" (the one the studio recut behind George's back) has never been on home video. Its always been George's original cut version from 1978

Maybe GL could update it by digitally adding seatbelts to all passengers in the vehicles, make it so that everyone is driving the speed limit at all times, and replace any open containers of booze with harmless soft drinks! That way it would be a movie that everyone can enjoy! Oh, and also replace those gas-guzzling 1960s cars with Teslas.

And GL should also change the soundtrack to include rap/hip-hop and some pop music, such as by Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. The songs currently in they film are SO old!
