Audio Wall Plate (no exit) (1 Viewer)

I have a wall outlet in my living room for 2 red and black audio cables right beside my TV. I figure its for running the cables inside the interior of my living room walls in order to install satellite speakers. I cannot see any other audio wall plate like this in my living room or house. I'm guessing the previous owner covered up the old exit panel with either drywall or an electrical socket. Is this possible?

Anything's possible; but since that plate is in the living room, if I had to guess I'd say that was the exit plate and the previous owner was trying to not clutter up the LR with a receiver/amp. (I'm thinking there was a wife in the picture!) I'd look at the room directly above or maybe even the basement below. I say directly above/below because it looks like a do-it-yourself job since most custom install would probably use banana plugs and not spring clips. (And a DIYer would probably take the path of least resistance, so something close.)
