Gidget, a somewhat more serious movie than one might expect, has come to Blu-ray from Twilight Time with a very nice transfer from Sony. Film historians seem to agree that it is the first Hollywood "beach film."

Many thanks for the review.

I've never liked Sandra Dee and Gidget is not my kind of film so I'm in no rush to buy this disc even though the quality of the presentation makes it attractive. I'll probably delay buying until Screen Archives have one of their sales.
