Due to ship from Vinegar Syndrome's "Cinématographe" sub-label this month:
I have never seen this western comedy, directed by Jack Nicholson and I will be picking this up, as I'm working my way through all his films, now that he has retired and is in his dotage. Going' South seems to be quite obscure - didn't get very good reviews at the time. Maltin found it "amusing, but not for all tastes". Danny Peary: "an amiable comedy western...a nice change of pace for western fans".
The Red Rock West blu-ray and Little Darlings 4K UHD from the Cinématographe label were really impressive, so I'm expecting this to look good. Now, if only we could get a decent release for The Missouri Breaks, the film Nicholson starred in, immediately prior. The Kino Lorber blu-ray is out of print and wasn't impressive to look at.
