KEF has announced the availability of the Mu7 headphones for $399.99, by long-time collaborator Ross Lovegrove. Available in silver grey or charcoal grey, the new headphones are cast from a precision-engineered, ergonomic aluminum, with a lightweight and durable headband for an acoustic seal. Memory foam ear pads mould to the shape of the head, improving both passive and active noise cancellation, as well as bass response. A swivel point above the ear cups allows the headphones to be rotated and flattened for compact transport.
KEF says that Lovegrove has created an over-ear headphone design which is refined, sleek, and a “harmonious addition” to the wider collection (the designer also worked on the Muon loudspeakers, Muo portable speakers, and Mu3 earphones). A capacitive touchpad on the right ear cup enables call answering, track skip and volume adjustment via taps and swipes.
