In the 1960's there was an entertaining and crazy TV series called Chatters World. A catchy song, ending in "Chatter, what's the matter with you" kept kids coming back for more antics of Chatter the Chimp. The series was aired on WBKB-TV channel 7 Chicago, as well as syndicated in New York, Connecticut, and many other TV markets. Ronny Born would adlib the narration on the fly, while Murray Hill would film the pandemonium. They would simply let Chatter loose on the set, and follow the fun. Chicago historian Steve Jajkowski adds, "Chatter's World" was local - it was created and produced by Sam Ventura and Ronny Born (who played "Orville" on Shock Theatre). Ronny Born also performed the voice of Chatter. Filmed at WBKB, roughly a season's worth, then sold into local syndication for quite a few years after. It initially ran as a stand alone show first (on WBKB). Chatter's World also aired in other major markets, including WNEW Channel 5 in New York where these shorts aired as part of the long-running children's show Wonderama within Sonny Fox's 1959-67 run as host).

Fairy Land (1960)
In this episode, Chatter creates havoc while exploring the fairytale stories at Storybook Park. This episode was filmed at Paul's Grove, Storybook Park, Storybook City USA, in Medina, Illinois (Addison, IL). It became Adventureland in 1961, with the focus of the amusement park to include older children, teens, and young adults. The on location filming gives a glimpse of an amusement park only in the history books. Mastered from 16mm b-w film. (Moviecraft Inc.)

An entertaining visit with Dave Garroway in the early days of live TV from Chicago. Watch for the unintentional bloopers, like stagehands walking all over, shadows, and loud off stage noises! Dave takes everything in stride, although he states on the air “no more animals” when a live turkey gets loose and knocks him over! Al Kapp is guest introducing a funny Little Abner sketch. All this with a bevy of song and dance numbers. A single television camera, with Garroway walking among the sets casually, talking to the audience and guests, is know as the Chicago Style of live TV. The Chicago Style is improvisation, scriptlessness, and interpretive cameras. Cast includes Connie Russell, Jack Haskell, Bette Chapel, Cliff Norton, Jimmy Russell, Aura Vianio, Joseph Gallicchio and His Orchestra, the Hamilton Trio, and guest Al Capp. Commercials for Congoleum, makers of wall tile and linoleum floor coverings. Airdate November 19, 1950. Mastered from 16mm b-w film. (Moviecraft Inc.)

As seen on Sundays at 10pm(et). Had Dave and his sponsor- Congoleum-Nairn - had their way, "GARROWAY AT LARGE" would have lasted several more seasons. But NBC got a request from Procter & Gamble for his Sunday night time slot so they could sponsor "THE RED SKELTON SHOW" in the fall of 1951......and the network had no other time periods available, so Garroway was cancelled in the summer of '51. He moved on to New York, and "THE TODAY SHOW". He tried to revive the series as "THE DAVE GARROWAY SHOW" (for Pontiac) in the 1953-'54 season, but that didn't quite work out. (Barry I. Grauman)

The show never came to pass but this remarkable half-hour not only showcases McBride but features as her guest, the immortal Eddie Dowling. Dowling was a famed actor, producer and director and was the original Tom in THE GLASS MENAGERIE. The show was filmed in 35mm at her Catskills home in West Shokan, NY. A dynamic combination of comedy vignettes and visually attractive musical numbers, hosted by Alan Young.
Jan. 25.1951 (West Coast)

Stars Lisa Kirk Lou Merrill Bernard Gorcey

In addition to announced guests and players there is an unbilled cameo by Bernard Gorcey.

The Alan Young Show from December 1951 with special guest Frank Sinatra, who does a comedy bit and sings Night and Day. This is an almost completely undocumented Sinatra performance. In fact, the only note I can find is this rather amusing logline from a newspaper of the day (recall this was pre "From Here to Eternity"):" FRANKIE BOY - The headline guest of the Alan Young show is the husband of luscious Ava Gardner, Frankie Sinatra." Aired on the east coast on December 20, 1951, and on the west coast on December 23, 1951.

The Adventures Of Tom Mix (1957) (Pilot)

Directed by Frank McDonald, Executive Producer Sam Hersh, Teleplay by Harold Shumate, Produced by Matty Kemp, Co-Produced by Martin Hersh. Supporting Cast, Kathleen Case, Willis Bouchey, Donald Murphy, Jean Inness, John Pickard, Larry Thor, Freeman Morse, Dirk London, Sam Flint.

The Adventures Of Tom Mix is a pilot for a television series that was never produced. This unsold pilot was produced in 1957. In the 1930s and early 1950s a Tom Mix radio show produced by Ralston Purina did pretty well and the producers of this pilot were banking on that success to convince a prospective studio to by the pilot and produce a series based on this film, called “The Adventures of Tom Mix”.

The sales pitch in this film claims that in 1905 Tom Mix rode with Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders. That is true but he did not ride up San Juan Hill as the states but instead merely rode with some Rough Riders in Roosevelt's inaugural parade as part of a group of 49 other horseman. He was in the Army during the Spanish American War having enlisted in 1898 but never went out of the country and in 1902 he was listed as AWOL but never charged.

Tom Mix was born January 6, 1880, he worked in movies from 1909 to 1940 having acted in 291 films during that period and died in a car wreck at 60 years old October 12, 1940.

William Campbell was born on October 30, 1923, He died on April 28, 2011 and aside from playing the part of Tom Mix in this film and by the way there is no credits in his Imdb for that effort, neither to the director or producers IMDB show any evidence this film ever existed, William Campbell is best know for his acting in The High and the Mighty, Dementia 13, Star Trek: The Original Series 1st as the all-powerful alien Trelane in the episode The Squire of Gothos and then for his role as the Klingon captain Koloth in the, The Trouble with Tribbles. Campbell was also known for being the first actor to sing with Elvis Presley in the movie Love me Tender.

The song "Tom Mix" by Norman Kaye Family Films Television Inc.
