hey all... I have a pioneer vsx-23txh that has worked fine for years. Recently the sound has gone dead, tested digital and analog inputs and can not get sound to come from the speakers. There is no hiss coming from the speakers even at max volume. The headphone jack is working. Any ideas as to what might be wrong here?

Hello Jon welcome to the forum! :welcome: Lets see if we can at least point you in the right direction.

It sounds to me like you lost the amp section in the AVR. If you can't get anything out through the speakers on different inputs but the headphones work then something is wrong with it. It could be something simple as a fuse, have you checked it/them out? You will have to take the cover off to investigate it but it's worth if you have no sound. It could also be a relay gone bad or it could be the amp itself. It's hard to say at this point.

You could look for a repair shop to further diagnose it but considering the age it might be better to just shop for a newer 4k compatible AVR. The new models have been announced from Denon and Yamaha so look for current models to go on sale any day now.
