RUMOR: Cruise/Johansson Team-Up for R-Rated Eastwood Remake? [Update] — World of Reel

Director Christopher McQuarrie has mentioned, a few times, that he and Tom Cruise were going to team-up in the near future for a “gnarly” R-rated movie.

Er... didn't see this one coming. I don't think the original is particularly gripping, so don't see why they'd want to remake it. Surely there's a better Eastwood film they could revisit. How about:
Where Eagles Dare
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
Play Misty for Me

Or one of the many westerns. Don't think Cruise has done much in that genre other than a momentary cameo in Young Guns.


But I would say Scarlett Johansson is a significant upgrade from Sondra Locke.

Yes Play Misty For Me would be a better idea for a remake. I don’t care for The Gauntlet- my vote for worst Eastwood film.
