Somehow I never knew that the animation was looked down on by some. I thought it looked like the book come to life and I have always been charmed by it. I am going to stick with the 3-D blu-ray as I think it is a lot of fun.

I couldn’t agree with you more- a faithful rendering of the book illustrations. And no one talks about the wonderful vistas throughout the entire film- and in 3D they are truly breathtaking. The sky jump by the elves in 3D was absolutely thrilling. I hope some studio (whoever they may be) if not WB remasters it is 3D for us 3D fans. Even if it’s an import I would buy it without hesitation.
