My home theater has been a work in progress for most of the last 5 years. Without a dedicated space to build it out the way I'd love to (AT screen, sound isolation etc), I've mostly focused on optimizing the equipment and acoustics of my 18x12x9 space.

I chose to go with Legacy Audio speakers all the way around, and Seaton subwoofers. The only component right now that still needs an upgrade at some point, is the screen.

The room has a large window behind the screen. The window was plugged (I built a custom plug using upholstery foam on plywood, all wrapped in black velvet. The plug friction fits into the window, and can be easily removed in the future should I sell the house.I have covered the back wall in black velvet on home-made frames to increase perceived contrast.

Associated Equipment:
Legacy Audio Focus SE Mains
Legacy Audio Custom Marquis HD Center
Legacy Audio Phantom HD Surrounds
Seaton Submersive HP+ primary sub
Seaton Submersive F2+ secondary sub
D-Sonic M3a-5400-7 amplifier
Marantz AV8802A Processor
Oppo UDP-203 UHD Player
Custom HTPC in Fractal Design Case w/ GTX 1080Ti
110" Monoprice 1.0 Gain screen
Sony VPL-VW675ES 4K HDR projector

Acoustic Treatments:

GIK Acoustics Tri Traps x 4
GIK Acoustics Monster Bass Traps x 2
AcoustiMac 2x4 Acoustic Panels x 6
ATS Acoustics 2x2 Acoustic Panels x 4

That's the best pair of images I have - it's on a pretty high shelf (which i've currently "rigged" with a tile and irwin clamp to give a broader surface, as the mount is off center).
I'll be building a permanent shelf in the near future, when I find the time.

Images appear blank to me.

Are you going to CEDIA?

Nothing special, we don't even have home theater seats, just a really nice power reclining 3seat loveseat, as my wife doesn't like home theater seating.

So in my quest to improve the sound of the room, I've been doing a lot of acoustic room modeling in REW, and have decided to adjust things slightly. I'll be moving my couch forward approximately 15 inches, and shifting the front sub to the left side of the room.

I've also got some new acoustic treatments on the way from GIK:

  • 6 - 244 bass traps, full range. 2 per side wall, 2 on ceiling, all at reflection points
  • 6 - 244s, with Scatter Plates, 2 per side wall, 2 on ceiling, toward rear of room
