...now, sadly, you have to watch it. I never minded this film. I think it was my first Kong movie. Saw it before the original. I was also infatuated with Jessica Lange who is just gorgeous here.

From what I have been reading, the extended cut will be on the Blu-ray. I cannot positively confirm that yet.

Not sure if this was mentioned already in this thread or not but I just discovered this will include the TV cut which might push some to purchase this disc.
