Bluesound is launching the Powernode Edge, a single-zone, wireless music streaming amplifier for which all that’s needed is to “just add speakers”. The $649 streamer, which can be pre-ordered from Bluesound.com and approved retailers, combines music sources, control, and amplification from one device.
An audiophile-grade 2 x 40 watt amplifier onboard means the Edge can be connected to a pair of passive speakers to create a hi-fi system. Alternative setups include using a Pulse Sub+ wireless subwoofer for a compact 2.1 stereo system, or employing the Edge to power rear channels in a Bluesound wireless surround sound setup for home theater applications. Hi-res audio tracks up to 24-bit/192kHz are supported along with MQA playback.
